• 1960: GENE AUTRY was granted ownership of the Major League Baseball franchise the California Angels.

• 1980: RONNIE MILSAP topped the country charts with Smokey Mountain Rain.

• 1980: EDDIE RABBITT’s I Love A Rainy Night entered the Top 40 chart.

• 1993: TRAVIS TRITT teamed with The Eagles to film a music video for his cover of their tune Take It Easy.

• 2002: TRAVIS TRITT and Ray Charles teamed for an episode of CMT’s Crossroads.

• 2016: TIM MCGRAW and FAITH HILL played Secret Santa to shoppers at a Walmart store near Jacksonville, Florida, paying off $5,000 in layaway bills.

• 2019: JASON ALDEAN performed a Las Vegas concert for the first time since a shooting ended his 2017 appearance at the Route 91 Harvest Music Festival.

HELEN CORNELIUS is 80. Helen is best remembered for a series of hit duets with JIM ED BROWN.

TIM McGRAW and FAITH HILL are front and center in the first full trailer for the made-for-TV movie 1883, the prequel to the hit series Yellowstone. Starring Tim, Faith and Sam Elliott, 1883 is the story of how the Duttons came to settle in Montana, making their way from Texas across the treacherous Great Plains to settle on the modern day Dutton Ranch property. • VIDEO

… Tim and Faith play James and Margaret Dutton, the patriarch and matriarch of the Dutton family, while Elliott will take on the role of Shea Brennan, the hardnosed cowboy tasked with leading the expedition.

KENNY CHESNEY has more than 20 stadium shows across the United States scheduled for 2022 on his Here and Now Tour, and he still remembers when the jump in his career success occurred that put him on a stadium-concert level of stardom: “When you go from an arena, selling like, 12 or 13,000 [tickets] and having to sell 50 to 60,000, not only is there anxiety that comes along with that, but you have to cover a lot more ground. There was a learning curve…”

STONEWALL JACKSON has died. The Grand Ole Opry’s most senior member notched hit songs in three different decades and was a familiar face at the Opry for over 50 years.

DAN + SHAY are bringing the Christmas spirit to The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon next tonight (December 6) with a performance of their latest original holiday song, Officially Christmas.

THOMAS RHETT’s new tune, Slow Down Summer, has a new music video. In the clip colorful scenes of summer and fall are contrasted with the dead of winter. BLAKE SHELTON’s 16-song deluxe edition of his album Body Language was delivered to the world on Friday. Blake recently explained the reason for Body Language Deluxe: “We wanted to release this deluxe album because some songs came in at a point in time where I wasn’t ready to make a new album. But, I wanted to get these songs out there, so that’s what we decided to do.”

JASON ALDEAN has unveiled a brand new track and the full rundown of his next studio set, as the second half of his double-album project draws near.

Marking his tenth album overall, the full Macon, Georgia will arrive on April 22, and it will include the new song Whiskey Me Away — one of fifteen tracks that will complete the massive, 30-song track list of the double LP. • VIDEO
