• 1981: ALABAMA entered the country charts with Why Lady Why. It would become their second number one hit.
• 2004: KENNY CHESNEY and MARTINA MCBRIDE performed on an episode of Oprah taped in Fort Campbell, Kentucky. The event was to surprise 640 military women and wives with a concert and baby shower.
• 2006: GEORGE STRAIT scored his 53rd number one hit with Give It Away.
• 2008: Technical problems interrupted the theatrical debut of 9 To 5 for 20 minutes at the Ahmanson Theatre in Los Angeles. DOLLY PARTON jumped up from a seat in the audience to entertain the crowd with jokes and performances of 9 To 5 and I Will Always Love You.
• 2011: VINCE GILL and Sting shot an edition of CMT Crossroads at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City.
• 2016: BILLY GILMAN competed on The Voice, getting all four coaches, including BLAKE SHELTON, to turn their chairs and attempt to land him on their teams. Gilman selected Adam Levine as his coach.

GARTH BROOKS’ channel on SiriusXM will wrap up on October 1. Garth shared: “[The Garth Channel] sold a ton of tickets for us on the [arena] tour and a ton of tickets for us on the stadium tour and now the drive for what it was and what it stood for is coming to a close. We plan this purposefully for all our stuff to be coming to a close here to see what our next step might be.”

KANE BROWN just earned a distinguished honor from the Boys & Girls Clubs of America: the Champion of Youth Award, which will be presented to him at the 75th National Youth of the Year gala on October 15. The event will be held at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California.
… Kane is being recognized for his contributions to the Boys & Girls Clubs of America in the last year. In 2021 the country superstar made a generous donation to renovate the gymnasium at the organization’s facility in Cleveland, Ohio, and once construction was complete, he visited the gym and spent time with the kids who would be enjoying it.
… Kane is currently overseas for tour stop sin Amsterdam, Netherlands; Stockholm, Sweden; and Cologne, Berlin and Munich, Germany.
