WOMAN BIT OFF A TEEN’S TONGUE WHEN HE TRIED TO RAPE HER _ A South Carolina teen bit off more than he could chew when the 33-year-old woman he tried to rape bit off his tongue. When the woman heard a knock on her door she went to answer it. When she got to the door there was no one there so she went back to bed. This happened twice more, and finally the victim decided to walk outside to see who kept knocking. When she walked outside, she saw her attacker standing on the side of her house holding a knife to his chest. She immediately ran back inside, but the teen followed and forced himself into the house. He then proceeded to tackle her and punch her, and gave her a warning about cooperating. After that, the teen attempting rape asked the victim where her bedroom was. The woman said he then picked her up, and brought her to the bedroom to rape her. The teen even tried to force his tongue into the victim’s mouth. When he did this, the woman bit the attacker’s tongue completely off. She told police that she “bit his tongue as hard as she could until she heard it snap.” After biting off her attacker’s tongue, the teen immediately stopped and got off the bed. The woman seized the opportunity and ran to her car. When she went through the kitchen, she still had the tongue in her mouth. She said that that’s where she threw the tongue on the ground. The victim drove to a business to call the police.
… Charleston authorities followed the victim to her house where the attempted rape took place. Police found blood on the floor of the rape victim’s bedroom, and the attacker’s tongue was found and placed in a bag with ice. Police also found the knife in the woman’s yard. The suspect was found at a Waffle House after his mother had called 911 because of her son “not having a tongue and needing medical assistance.”

MOM WRITES LETTER TO BOY WHO HELPED HER DAUGHTER LEARN TO SKATEBOARD _ Six-year-old Peyton recently recently told her mom, “I wish I could skateboard.” But she thought it was just for boys. Mom Jeanean Thomas says she had a long talk about how there are no such thing as “boy things” and “girl things.” Thomas gave Peyton her old skateboard and took her to the local skate park in Cambridge, Ontario. When they arrived, they saw a group of teenage boys skating, smoking, and swearing. Thomas told her that didn’t matter, and Peyton began to skate. Soon, one of the older boys came over to Peyton. Thomas says she “immediately prepared to deliver my ‘She’s allowed to use this park just as much as you guys’ speech.” Instead, the boy told Peyton, “Your feet are wrong. Can I help you?” The encounter inspired Thomas to write a thank-you letter to the boy, which she shared on social media. She wrote, in part, “You proceeded to spend almost an hour with my daughter showing her how to balance and steer, and she listened to you – a feat not attained by most adults!” she wrote. “I want you to know that I am proud that you are part of my community, and I want to thank you for being kind to my daughter, even though your friends made fun of you for it.”

A description on a GoFundMe page set up for the family reads: “Recently Evan’s mom received the news that he will not be with us much longer.” To make sure he gets the most out of Christmas, the family moved it up by two months and is celebrating this Saturday instead. Before long the news had spread far and wide. Now there are hundreds who are celebrating Christmas early for Evan. When Evan looks out his window, the back yard is decorated and there’s a sign saying “Merry Christmas.” And the entire street is lit up. More than 2,000 people have said they are attending a Christmas in St. George event on Facebook. A 25-float Christmas parade is planned.
DON’T STRESS ABOUT UNPLUGGING YOUR WALL CHARGERS _ There’s nothing wrong with trying to save energy and lower your power bill, but unplugging your smartphone, tablet, and laptop chargers when they aren’t charging isn’t doing much. They’re not the energy vampires some people think they are. Chris Hoffman at the website How-To Geek used a Kill a Watt meter, testing chargers for the iPhone, iPad, MacBook, Chromebook, Windows laptops, and Android phones. Individually, each charger rang up a big 0.0 watts of power usage. Then, just to be thorough, Hoffman filled an entire power strip with six different chargers and got a total reading of 0.3 watts. Assuming you had the highest cost of electricity in the country (30.04 cents per kWh in Hawaii), it would only cost you about 79 cents to leave them plugged in for the entire year. And that’s assuming you never unplug them at all for travel or moving around your home over the course of the year’s 8,760 hours. Of course, when you plug a device into the charger, that’s when begin paying more.

So what if there were a car designed to keep food warm and advertise Domino’s in traffic? It’s here. The process began three years ago, when Domino’s ran a design contest looking for the “ultimate delivery vehicle.” 100 of the vehicles will roll out in test cities over the next few months. It’s called the DXP, or “delivery expert,” and is based on the gasoline-powered version of the Chevrolet Spark. It has warming ovens where the backseat and trunk normally would be.
